Muhammad Mostafigur Rahman, also known by his pen name Mustafiz Mamun, is a
Bangladeshi photographer, photojournalist, and travel writer whose work explores the
landscapes, wildlife, and people of Bangladesh. For more than two decades, he has
documented the country’s rich natural and cultural heritage through a visual language
shaped by travel, observation, and a deep appreciation for place.
Muhammad Mostafigur Rahman is a Bangladeshi photographer based in Dhaka.
Since 2000, he has documented the people, culture, landscapes, wildlife, environmental
issues, festivals, entertainment, sports, business, and political life of Bangladesh,
building a body of work that spans more than two decades.
As the Head of Photography at bdnews24.com, Bangladesh’s first digital news
platform, he has photographed nearly every corner of the country, capturing its diverse
landscapes, communities, and defining moments. His signature theme, Beautiful
Bangladesh, runs throughout much of his work, reflecting his enduring connection to the
country’s land, people, and cultural heritage.
A passionate traveler, Rahman’s journey into professional photography began with a
love of exploration. Over the years, he has traveled extensively around the world,
documenting cultures and landscapes, with travel photography becoming one of his
principal areas of specialization. He also writes travel features for newspapers and
magazines under the pen name Mustafiz Mamun and is the author of five books. His
photographs have been widely published in both national and international media.
Rahman holds a postgraduate degree in Political Science from the University of Dhaka
and completed a one-year diploma at the Pathshala South Asian Media Institute, one of
the world’s leading institutions for visual storytelling. He also serves as an adjunct
faculty member in the Department of Television, Film, and Photography at the University
of Dhaka, where he mentors the next generation of visual storytellers.
His dedication to portraying Bangladesh through thoughtful and compelling visual
narratives has been recognized through numerous exhibitions in Bangladesh and
abroad, earning him several prestigious national and international awards.
